Your taxes at work ... and as flagged in 1991, expect the Packer's own contribution to be minimal.
Packers accept State memorial offer
It has been confirmed that a State memorial service will be held for late business magnate Kerry Packer.
Prime Minister John Howard made the offer, which it is understood has been accepted by the Packer family.
Repeat this mantra at will all you girt by sea, non offshore taxpayers.
"Anybody in this country who does not minimise his tax wants his head read -- I can tell you as a government that you are not spending it so well that we should be donating extra."
(The late Kerry Goanna in 1991 telling a government print media inquiry just what he thought about the stuff governments were spending taxpayers' money on and how he was certainly not going to be an accomplice before the fact.)
